Doctor Bio

Dr. Greg McKinnis was born and raised in Oklahoma and is proud of his deep Oklahoma roots.  In 1988, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.  After attending medical school at the Edward F. Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, he completed his internship in Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center.  He then returned to Oklahoma to complete residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center.

Among his many honors are the American Federation of Medical Research/SSCI Research Award, the Navy Achievement Award, and the Chief Resident’s Award for Outstanding Service.  He has been involved in multiple research studies involving pulmonary medicine and has been a presenter at the American Thoracic Society International meeting.

He is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He is board certified in Sleep Medicine by both the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

He currently resides in Oklahoma City with his wife and two children.  In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and gardening.  He and his children have been working their way through the many major league baseball parks in the country.
